Charles Fay Village may revert to independent living 3.21

Changes are in store for the Charles Fay Village assisted living facility in Morenci as low occupancy rates continue to produce revenue shortfalls.

Charles Fay Village opened in July 1999 as a 16-unit independent living facility for senior citizens. The Charles Fay Trust contributed $1.2 million to the project.

Despite a survey showing support for the facility, low occupancy soon became a concern.

A year after the opening, owner Lenawee Health Alliance began discussions about converting the building to an assisted living format due to a lack of residents.

Now, owner ProMedica is considering a change back to the independent living format in hopes of keeping the facility open.
