A public hearing is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the start of the Morenci city council meeting to close out the Mill Street/Locust Street project.

The hearing is required through the Michigan Community Development Block Grant program, said city clerk/administrator RenÄe Schroeder, to review expenditures and to discuss how the project proceeded.

The city received $225,630 for the project and was required to kick in matching funds of at least $83,000.

The aim of the project was to rejuvenate the part of town formerly occupied by the Henkel Corporation (Parker Rust Proof).
