Although there were few agenda items, the Fayette village council meeting lasted over an hour April 12 as council members discussed what some considered inefficient budget practices.

April 1 was the deadline for budget approval and council unanimously passed 2007 appropriations as an emergency action, but not before council members voiced disapproval.

Council member Mike Maginn said he was only given two days to look at the budget and considered it an unacceptably short period of time. Council member Paul Shaffer said the problem is ongoing.
