Woman arrested for alleged theft of checks, credit cards and identity 7.11

A Morenci woman is in jail facing charges of multiple felonies involving family members and acquaintances.

Sabrina Marie Murphy, 35, of 132 Elm St., faces felony charges for credit card theft, writing stolen checks and identity theft. She remains in the Lenawee County Jail, unable to meet bond and waiting arraignment in circuit court.

Morenci Chief of Police Larry Weeks said his department received multiple complaints about a possible suspect in a series of crimes committed in May and June.

The incidents all involved acquaintances or family members of the suspect.
