A Morenci Middle School student earned a Div. I rating at the solo and ensemble festival April 17 in Jonesville.

Eighth grade student Paige Mock was given a top rating for a piano solo and she also earned a Div. II rating in a flute solo.

Mock is a home-schooled student enrolled at the school for band class.

CONCERT—The spring awards concert for all levels of band is scheduled at 7 p.m. May 6.

The sixth grade beginning band, the seventh/eighth grade band, and the high school band will play a variety of music, and the concert will end with a combined band of all 96 band students.

A “warm-up” concert is scheduled Thursday afternoon at the elementary school.
