Fayette needs income survey forms 2012.07.25
Fayette is in the running for $600,000 in grant money for the sewer separation project after 288 valid survey forms were collected for an income study.
The village needed to show that at least half the residents fall into the low-to-moderate income range, said village administrator Steve Blue, and that number appears to be exceeded.
Blue had contact with Roberta Acosta of the Rural Community Assistance Program, the agency that’s assisting the village in obtaining the grant.
The delay in obtaining enough surveys puts the bidding process for the sewer project on hold while the village waits for approval of the grant request.
Blue expects a delay of about a month before the project can move forward again. The village council needs to have a signed contract for the sewer project by the end of the year to avoid forfeiting a $4.8 million grant from the Ohio EPA.
